DCaroline Sigman Photographr. Caroline Sigman, founder and president of CCS Associates, passed away April 30, 2025. A brilliant scientist, visionary leader, and tireless advocate for advancing public health, she leaves behind a legacy that has shaped not only our company but the broader scientific community.

Dr. Sigman founded CCS Associates in the basement of her Palo Alto home in 1985 with a singular mission: to help others achieve the breakthroughs that could cure some of society’s most intractable health challenges. Her passion for science was boundless, and her commitment to supporting innovation in health research touched countless lives.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sigman dedicated herself to scientific advancement, particularly in the field of oncology, where she was a leading voice in early detection and prevention. She was a pioneer in the development of biomarkers and among the first to recognize their transformative potential in identifying disease earlier and intervening more effectively. Her leadership helped shape the future of biomarker science and expanded access to powerful tools for prevention and treatment.

To those who had the privilege of working with her, Dr. Sigman was more than a leader, she was an inspiration. She brought determination, compassion, and clarity of purpose to everything she did. Her vision continues to guide our mission, and her legacy will live on in the work we do every day.

We mourn her loss deeply and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched. As we reflect on her extraordinary life, we remain committed to carrying forward the values, passion, and purpose that defined her.
